Scope: This project at Trumbull Correctional will replace the existing roof on B1, B18, B19, B20, B21, B22 and the upper roof of housing units 12, 13, 14, & 15.

TCI was built in 1992. These roofs have exceeded the warranty by eleven years. There are multiple leaks throughout the institution causing structural, electrical, and water damage. One-third of the roofs have been replaced. The remaining roofs are being evaluated to provide an energy efficient roof design utilizing a single ply membrane system.

Project: ODNR Mohican Lodge Roof and Envelope

Scope: The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) through the Division of Parks and Recreation (P&R) is responsible for the management of the Mohican State Park Lodge in Ashland County. The lodge provides recreational activities, primarily dining and lodging, with access to outdoor facilities such as a swimming pool, to the park users and the public in general. This facility has served in this manner for several decades and is now in need of renovations.

Phase 1 consists of replacing the existing roofing system and addressing other building envelope issues such as exposed structural timber member and stone masonry deterioration and replacement of soffit, fascia and eave components at the Mohican Lodge.

In addition to the Phase 1 items above, the intent of this project is to develop a Facility Master Plan for the entire lodge in conjunction with ODNRís strategic facility plans. The facility planning process would include assessments of existing conditions, including foundation systems, building envelope, (i.e. roofing, roof drainage, thermal insulation, windows, doors, etc.), HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.

Project: ODYS Scioto Juvenile Correctional Facility

Scope: Renovation of approximately 100,000 sq. ft of roof area on multiple buildings. The existing roof system was relatively new (15 years). Deficiencies in the original design have caused the roof system to fail at numerous locations. The new design considered modifications to the roof structures and designed a system that will enhance the overall ecstatic and free flow of run-off from these structures. Star evaluated the roof and developed a program for the project to fit the budget. The target was to specify a system that can last a minimum of 20 years. Along with roof replacement, other components of the roofing system are also being evaluated and scoped for replacement. Sustainability of design was a major factor in the new design replacement.

Project: ODRC Marion Building Envelope and Masonry

Scope: Building Envelope Projects at Marion Correctional. Roof project was under taken to restore the masonry buildings, foundation repairs throughout the facility and roof replacement of Administration building.

Architectural/Structural: Roof evaluation/replacement, Structural design, Construction documents, construction administration. New roof system was evaluated to comply with the Code requirements and Energy requirements of ASHARE 90.1.

Windows project was undertaken to replace security windows in inmate Dormitories. Original windows were single pan non insulated windows. These windows were replaced with medium security grade, steel windows meeting the requirements of ASTM F 1592 Standard Test Methods for Detention Hollow metal vision system requirements.

Architectural/Structural: Security window replacement for six dormitories. 75 Windows each dormitory ~ 450 Windows.

Project: OSU Postle Hall Doors and Windows

Scope: The Postle Hall Building is a multi-story building with classrooms, laboratories, and offices for the College of Dentistry. It was constructed in multiple phases in 1950, 1966 and 1972. The project was undertaken to replace 17 foot by 7 foot exterior windows on the North side of the building with thermally insulated windows units.
