Scope of Project: As part of OPERATION FIX IT, the Project objective was to renovate HVAC systems at the Four (4) schools.
PHASE I
Star provided the design criteria and is supporting the owner to select a suitable company to complete the project. The five-step process of the Design Build was discussed with the owner’s director and project manager and has been implemented. Star provided complete Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, and Control services including affected lighting and fire alarm systems. Calculating service loads and providing priority ranking for HVAC was done by the senior staff. Plumbing was limited to condensate disposal. The ability to effectively coordinate meetings and support within the owner’s schedule has proven critical to the ongoing success of this project. Star is committed to providing the same excellence of service on every project that we work on.
The most important part was communication, digesting owner’s philosophy that was basis of bond issue and spend every penny as precious resource, while ensuring that the public (school’s pupils) trust by transparency is paramount to the whole process. A desire to provide healthy environment for staff and students considering that soon these buildings may be retired since they have lived their useful life was critical in decision making.

The scope included Project Administration, Information Gathering, Programming and Planning Services leading to development of design Criteria and bridging documents. All work had to be done considering budgets for design Build model. Star will continue providing services during and after construction phase through summer of 2019 to ensure that client’s objectives are met. During Information Gathering services, Star engineers with over 40 years of experience walked to assess the conditions and review it for end results, while building portfolio of information as shown in the following pictures.
