Star Consultants, Inc. (Star) has been a supplier of civil engineering services since its founding in 1992. Star’s team of civil engineers have provided design and engineering construction documents for a broad range of clients and project types and include representatives from both the public and private sectors. Their civil design and engineering projects range from minor renovations and repairs to major site master planning and developments. Star’s team of civil engineers and support personnel have experience in site grading, storm water pollution prevention plans (SWPPP), storm water detention design, site utility design and the infrastructure design and engineering for both facility renovations/additions and new complex developments.
In the role as project civil engineer, Star has performed both as the primary consultant and as a key sub-consultant team member to other companies which were the lead architect or engineer. Star’s civil engineers thoroughly coordinate with all other team members and disciplines. This proven collaborative process ensures the client receives well defined and quality deliverables.
Star’s seasoned professionals have experience with various levels of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rules and regulations as well as the requirements of most jurisdictions in which they provide their services. Star’s expertise extends to all design aspects of site development. In addition, the Star network of site support contacts is extensive due to the firm’s large portfolio of completed projects throughout the Midwest, especially all parts of Ohio. This working knowledge allows Star to readily react and respond to site related items in an efficient and timely manner.
Projects for which Star’s civil engineer have provided services include paving restoration and repair, full depth pavement replacements, new pavement installations, pervious pavements and combinations of these construction methods based on each project needs. Star reviews each installation to determine which options supply the client with the most economical and long-term solution. Sustainability is always a consideration when addressing site issues. When possible and practical, sustainable practices are utilized such as the pulverization of onsite pulverized materials for reuse as compacted base to reduce material and transportation costs and minimize landfill additives.
Star infrastructure projects cover developments such as large-scale storm drain and detention systems, site water supply system designs for fire suppression with fire pumps and storage tanks, and site sanitary systems. In addition, Star has provided analysis, evaluations, and recommendation reports for the conditions of and improvements to the infrastructure for existing facilities.
