NCC/OSU Parking Lots and Structural Repairs
This project was undertaken to rehabilitate the existing parking lots and bridge at the Mansfield and Shelby campuses of North Central State College & Ohio State University Campus. There were 6 parking lots to be rehabilitated at the Mansfield Campus, and one parking lot and one bridge at the Shelby Campus. The existing pavements were mainly flexible with rigid pavements at Shelby campus were in extremely poor condition with drainage issues A program of Requirement to fit the project budget was approved by the owner and State Architectís Office. Construction plans for pavement rehabilitation using ODOT material specifications were developed. Existing concrete curbs and full depth pavement rehabilitation was performed. Coordination of rehabilitation activities with University activities were the main focus of the construction phase along with underground utilities. Maintenance of traffic plans were developed to allow uninterrupted use of the parking facilities during the construction phase. The project also included the installation of a new precast sign equipped with electronic message board at the west side entrance of the Mansfield Campus.
The scope of work for project included POR development, Distress and topographic survey, pavement evaluation and design, drainage design, curb replacement, electronic message sign installation (IT), maintenance of traffic scheme, cost estimates, schematic plans, preparation of construction documents, and construction administration phases of the project.
